SOCAM started investing in the cement business in the Chinese Mainland in 1994. In November 2005, SOCAM and Lafarge, the world leader in building materials, merged their cement operations in China to form Lafarge Shui On Cement Ltd, 55% owned by Lafarge and 45% owned by SOCAM which represents the company's presence in Southwest China.

Our accredited and award-winning construction business marked the origin of SOCAM. With its high level of competence in construction, design-and-build, interior fitting-out, renovation, heritage restoration and maintenance of public housing and institutional buildings in Hong Kong, Macau and the Chinese Mainland, the construction division has become a cornerstone on which SOCAM's property development operations will build future prosperity.
