Kong, 27 April 2004) Shui On Construction Company
Limited, a subsidiary of Shui On Construction And Materials
Limited ("SOCAM", HKEx stock code: 983), has
recently won the Green Contractor Silver Award from the
Architectural Services Department (ASD) for its outstanding
environmental performance on the Castle Peak Hospital
Phase II stage 2, Welfare Complex at Lai King Headland
Lai Chi Road, and Tung Chung Area 20 and 40 projects.
Established by ASD since 2001, Shui On has won the Green
Contractor Award for the third time.

Shui On closely monitors the environmental conditions
on all its construction sites, including dust level,
noise level, wastewater quality, waste quantity as well
as energy and fresh water consumption. Internal audits
are conducted bimonthly to verify the effectiveness
of the company's Environmental Management System (EMS)
and any corrective measures taken.
SOC specialises in the construction of commercial and
institutional projects for the government, major institutions
and private developers. The company has obtained ISO
9002, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and Occupational
Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certifications.
SOCAM, a member of the Shui On Group, was listed on
the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1997 and is engaged
in construction, construction materials and property
development in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. Apart
from SOCAM, the Shui On Group has non-listed property
businesses with investments in Hong Kong, the Chinese
