Shui On Awarded The
"Good People Management Award 1999"

(Hong Kong, 2 December, 1999) Shui On Group was awarded the "Good People Management Award 1999" by the Workplace Consultation Promotion Unit of the Labour Department. This award was established for the first time to recognize organizations with outstanding performance in people management.

The panel of judges consisted of ten representatives from the Labour Department, Labour Advisory Board, academic field, Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management and Hong Kong Industrial Relations  Association.   The  assessment  of

over 100 participating organizations is based on three criteria: "employee-oriented", "law-abiding" and "equal and fair", covering the five major aspects of human resources management including: recruitment, selection and offer of employment; staff training; safety and health at work; employer-employee communication and termination of employment. Shui On shared experience on the Employee Opinion Survey as an example of our employee-oriented approach in human resources management and our emphasis on communication.

Winning the "Good People Management Award 1999" represents a major recognition for Shui On's policy and practices in human resources management and provides tremendous encouragement for our continued endeavour in the area.
